Eligibility to Participate

You may participate in our departmental event if you have:

• Completed degree requirements in Fall 2011;
• Completed degree requirements in Winter 2012;
• Declared Candidacy for Spring 2012 by April 13, 2012;
• Declared Candidacy for Summer 2012 (the deadline to declare a statement of candidacy is April 27, 2012).

If you are a Fall 2012 degree candidate, you are not automatically eligible to participate in or receive guest tickets for the 2012 Commencement events, including departmental graduations. Instead, you will be automatically eligible to participate in the 2013 Commencement events in June 2013.

If you wish to participate in this year's events, you must submit a special inclusion form. Students who have completed 148 units by the end of Winter 2012 and are declared to graduate Fall 2012 may petition to participate in the 2012 Commencement ceremonies by filing a "Special Inclusion Petition" on-line, via My.UCLA at (http://my.ucla.edu).

Students who want to participate in the ceremonies but:
a) Have not completed 148 units by the end of Winter 2012 or
b) are graduating after Fall 2012, have to file a paper "Special Inclusion Petition", available at their respective College counseling unit starting Monday, April 2, 2012.

To be listed in the Commencement Program this petition must be approved by Friday, May 11, 2012.
