Medieval Literature. Second Stage.

Jennifer graduated from UC Berkeley with her BA in English literature in 2003 where she first acquired her taste for Middle English. She is now interested in issues of transmission especially as they pertain to translations and retellings. Following that vein, she is currently working on two projects: a study of the fidelity of modern English verse translations of Beowulf and the establishment of institution in Bede's Ecclesiastical History. In her spare time, she is also cultivating a newfound interest in theological philosophy (or the rejection thereof) and as always, indulging in her love of the novel. You can reach her at Jatsmith@ucla.edu or, on most days, basking in the sun on the Rolfe courtyard.
