The Vice Chair for Undergraduate Studies is the academic supervisor of the English Undergraduate Counseling Office. Although most routine questions can be answered by the counseling staff, you may need to contact the Vice Chair when:

• You have been directed by an Undergraduate Counselor to see the Vice Chair.

The office hours of the Vice Chair for Undergraduate Studies are posted at the beginning of the quarter in the Main Office and on the office door card. If you wish to see the Vice Chair, please drop by the Vice Chair's office during these times, leave a message on the office answering machine, or leave a note in the professor's mailbox in the Main Office.

For routine UCLA English Department counseling, students should go to the Undergraduate Counseling Officebefore going to the Vice Chair for Undergraduate Studies.  The Vice Chair is not responsible for admissions or hiring decisions.
