Biography

I’m a writer and scholar specializing in feminist and queer theory, performance studies, aesthetics, critical race and ethnic studies, and Asian American art and culture. My book, Spoiled: Asian American Hostility and the Damage of Repair (Duke UP, 2025) engages with contemporary Asian American artists who attend to the painful, destructive dimensions of repair, as integral to the kinds of healing Asian Americans seek. My writing has appeared in exhibition catalogues, Momus, Los Angeles Review of Books, and The New York Times Magazine, and my scholarly work has been published in ASAP/Journal, Women & Performance, GLQ, Social Text, and Post45.
