Poetry Writing Workshop with Randy James
Where: Text/Tech Lab, Kaplan Hall 211
Text/Tech, the English media lab, is pleased to announce the first of a series of visiting writers one-day workshops and readings. Our first visitor is LA poet and UCLA graduate Randy James.
March 5 in Text/Tech Lab, Kaplan 211 at 12:00pm – 3:00pm
Free and open to all UCLA students. Please submit by Feb. 29th a small selection of your writing and an informal, but considered, statement regarding “What is Poetry” to stefans@humnet.ucla.edu to apply.
Following this workshop, Randy will give a reading at 4 pm in the Text/Tech Lab, Kaplan 211. All are invited!
Randy Markel James (UCLA ’18) received an MFA in Writing from the University of San Francisco. James is an educator, editor, teacher and performer from Los Angeles, California. Some of his work has been published in Red Cedar Review, Palette, The Rumpus, Hooligan Mag, Denver Quarterly, &Change, and Essential Truths: The Bay Area in Color. His chapbook, Shifters, originally published by Nomadic Press, is now available via Black Lawrence Press.
