Spring book launch for new collection of writing by Gil Cuadros, edited by Rafael Pérez-Torres
A new collection of stories and poems by the late queer Latinx LA writer Gil Cuadros will be published on June 4 by City Lights. Professor Rafael Pérez-Torres served as editor with Pablo Alvarez, Kevin Martin, and Terry Wolverton. The new collection titled My Body is Paper: Stories and Poems, includes a forward by professor and Blackouts author Justin Torres. Gil Cuadros was also author of the acclaimed book City of God, named an “essential Los Angeles book” by the Los Angeles Times. Publishers Weekly describes My Body is Paper as a “welcome tribute to a writer who was cut short in his prime.”
There will be a launch party with Rafael Pérez-Torres at City Light Books in San Francisco on May 30 (also on zoom) and on June 4 at Skylight Books in Los Angeles with Justin Torres. Everyone is welcome to participate in the exciting launch of this much-anticipated book.
