Uri McMillan Awarded Andy Warhol Foundation Grant
Please join us in congratulating Professor Uri McMillan who has been awarded an Andy Warhol Foundation grant in support of his book project The Seventies in Color.
The book project focuses on Stephen Burrows, Antonio Lopez and Grace Jones, three artists living and working in New York in the 1970s. The aim of the project is to offer a re-reading of that decade by tracing the influence of Black and Brown creative work in the realm of the visual and performing arts.
The Andy Warhol Foundation has awarded almost a million dollars in this 2023 award cycle, to 27 writers working across a range of forms, including short-form writing, articles and books.
