Professor Danny Snelson selected as 2019-20 UCLA Hellman Fellow for The Little Database: A Poetics of Media Formats
Danny Snelson has been selected as a 2019-20 UCLA Hellman Fellow for his research project titled The Little Database: A Poetics of Media Formats, which develops critical and creative approaches to emerging literary forms and formats, with a focus on the everyday use of digital media in the present. Examining the transformative effects of digitization, the project’s poetics of the little database offers new ways to bridge close and distant readings of works in print, sound, and cinema from within a new media context. Established in 2011, the Hellman Fellows Program supports promising research and creative activities of Assistant Professors in the UCLA College of Letters and Science and the Professional Schools (excluding the School of Medicine and the School of Dentistry).
