Dear Alumni and Friends,
Welcome, or welcome back, to the Department of English! We’re widely recognized as one of the leading English departments in the nation, long known for our innovative research and excellence in teaching. Our department is always full of activity. We announce some of our major news on our Facebook page, and we invite you to take a look and “like” us to keep current on the happenings of the department!
We look forward to staying in touch with you and we would be grateful if you could enter or update your contact information so that we can contact you periodically via email with news about what is happening the Department. We’ve launched, for example, a series of lectures as part of our Forum on the Futures of Literary and Cultural Studies, in which we invite leading scholars to the department to speak on a variety of issues. We also have other lectures and lecture series which provides our community with the opportunity to hear important talks by prominent scholars, authors, poets, and leaders from a wide array of backgrounds (including journalism, film & television, politics, etc…). We also have a vibrant Friends of English organization. Members enjoy many benefits, such as invitations to special events, the ability to audit courses, and the opportunity to become involved with faculty and students of the department.
