UG Support Faculty Advisor
Joseph Dimuro is the Undergraduate Faculty Advisor for the UCLA Department of English.
A continuing lecturer and former director of the Departmental Honors program over the last decade, Dr. Dimuro has assumed a new set of responsibilities that include advising English undergraduates about course selection during registration periods and throughout the academic year. He is available to answer questions students may have about fulfilling the newly revised curricular requirements for the English major, American Literature and Culture major, Creative Writing concentration, and English minor. His administrative role is to assist UCLA undergraduates in completing the requirements for the English major in a timely manner, as well as to help them design a coherent and meaningful plan of study to meet their individual academic and career interests.
As the English Department’s liaison to the UCLA Career Center, Dr. Dimuro is also available to explore with students post-graduate employment options for English and American Literature and Culture majors as well as opportunities for internships, independent studies, and graduate programs. Dr. Dimuro is the faculty advisor for English 195CE, the departmental internship program, and once a year he organizes an undergraduate conference that showcases the scholarly and creative work of UCLA English and American Literature and Culture majors. He also hosts a forum on life after the English major.
