Yogita Goyal’s Book, Runaway Genres: The Global Afterlives of Slavery, Receives Distinguished Prizes
Yogita Goyal is Professor of English and African American Studies at UCLA. Her book, Runaway Genres: The Global Afterlives of Slavery, has received two distinguished prizes and one honorable mention since its October 2019 release by NYU Press. In 2021, Professor Goyal’s book received both the René Wellek Prize from the American Comparative Literature Association (ACLA) and the Perkins Prize from the International Society for the Study of Narrative. In 2020, it received Honorable Mention for the James Russell Lowell Prize from the Modern Language Association (MLA).
